About Joolian
Joolian helps adult parents, guardians and authorized caregivers discover activities and organize family information and calendars in the United States. This policy explains the information used by the first public release.
Browsing and account access
You can browse public listings without an account. Joolian receives your search text and filters to return listings, without creating a guest account. Saving listings and managing family information or calendars requires sign-in. Email sign-in sends your address and a short-lived verification code to Resend. Apple or Google sign-in supplies a verified provider identifier and any name or email you authorize, including an Apple private relay address. Joolian verifies provider responses on its backend and stores encrypted provider authorization for account access and revocation. Native Joolian sessions are kept in secure device storage; website previews use protected authentication cookies. Phone numbers are optional contact information, not a sign-in method in this release.
Family information
Joolian stores the adult name and supplied contact details, children’s names or nicknames, birth dates or previously supplied ages, optional gender and relationship information, interests, preferences, availability, and saved onboarding drafts. Ages and structured interests help suggest activities. You may use a nickname and omit optional details. Saved listings and family records are private to the account. Activity Providers do not receive family information from browsing or saving.
Optional allergy and support information
If you enter allergies, accessibility requirements, sensory preferences or support notes, Joolian stores those details in the private family profile. These fields are optional and can be cleared. They are not used for advertising or sent to Activity Providers, map services, sign-in providers or external calendars. Joolian does not access HealthKit or provide medical advice.
Location and maps
Location access is optional, approximate and foreground-only, after you choose Current location. Manual city, address or ZIP entry and Set location later remain available. A location or map pin you explicitly confirm may be saved to your account; a manually selected pin can be precise. Private address labels stay with your account. Typed address suggestions go through Joolian to Google. Apple supplies iPhone maps and location lookup; selected origin and public destination coordinates may go through Joolian to Apple for driving estimates. Coarse coordinates, explicitly selected map points or location-search text may go through Joolian to the U.S. Census Bureau for public place names. These services receive the necessary location/search and network information, without family names, child profiles, contact details or support notes. Search and route results are temporary; confirmed saved locations remain until changed or deleted. No background movement history is collected.
Family Calendar and Apple Calendar
Joolian stores events you create, including titles, participants, dates, times, timezone, recurrence and notes. Apple Calendar connection is optional and asks for access when you connect. Selected external meetings are read on the device and kept in memory; Joolian does not save those imported meetings as family events. Managed calendar copies include event titles, selected children’s names or “for the whole family,” and timing. Others with access to the destination calendar may see these details. Exports exclude birth dates, notes, location, allergies and support information. Changes run while the app is active. Google Calendar connection is not offered in this release; Google account sign-in does not connect a calendar.
Service providers
Railway runs Joolian’s API and Supabase provides backend database hosting. They process the records needed to operate the service on Joolian’s behalf. Resend delivers email codes; Apple, Google and Census process the map, identity or lookup information described above. Provider ratings use public catalogue business identifiers. Joolian does not send child profiles to rating services. Family records do not go to third-party AI services. Providers may process network information needed for delivery and security under their own policies. Joolian does not sell family information, provide it to data brokers or authorize its use for unrelated marketing.
Advertising and permissions
This release has no advertising, cross-app tracking or behavioral analytics integration. It does not request Contacts, microphone, photo-library or background-location access. Location and Calendar permissions can be denied or revoked in device Settings. Manual location and Joolian’s own calendar remain available. Revoking device permission stops future access but does not remove information already saved or copies already exported.
Retention, deletion and security
Account records, saved drafts, family profiles, Joolian events and saved listings remain until edited, removed or deleted with the account. Signing out ends that session without deleting saved information. Sessions and access controls protect private records; provider authorization is encrypted on the backend. Delete account in Settings > Account removes the active account and associated family records and ends all sessions. If a provider cannot confirm revocation immediately, a minimal encrypted authorization job may remain for automatic retries for up to seven days; it contains no family profile and is then removed. Existing external calendar copies are not erased; remove those in their calendar app. Backups and service delivery records can retain earlier copies subject to their retention and applicable law. Requests about retained information can be sent to the contact below. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You can edit family information, clear optional support notes, remove children or saved listings, change saved locations, disconnect Apple Calendar, sign out and delete the account from within the app. The app reports failed deletion so it can be retried. Contact us to request access, correction, deletion or a copy of your information and to exercise applicable privacy rights. We verify requests and respond as required by applicable law.
Children and authorized caregivers
Joolian is intended for adults age 18 or older, not for children to create accounts. Enter a child’s information only if you are authorized to manage it. Child records are private to the adult account except for titles and participant names explicitly exported to a chosen calendar. We do not sell child information or use it for advertising. Contact us if information was provided without proper authorization.
Support and policy changes
Contact bhaveshdewan9@icloud.com for support, privacy questions or rights requests. Include only information needed for the request; never send passwords, sign-in codes or unnecessary child health details. Joolian will update this policy when its practices change and provide notice or obtain consent where required.
